I sent this e-mail to the producers of RTE’s “ The Consumer Show”
Dear Hosts,
I have been complaining about Renault cars since I bought two of them the first in 2003 and the second one in 2004 .before my first service was due I had to replace all four tyres on both cars. From then on we have had a litany of faults in both cars. The air conditioner broke down in both cars the sunroof decided to open and close whenever it liked and the dashboard just went out never again to light up the heating broke down and the two windows in my wife’s car fell down. My car also had the same problem. I was so upset, I decided to check out the window problem myself and I got my neighbour to help me take the door apart and look at the problem at source. I discovered what the problem was and I and my neighbour can now reveal that it is a small piece of plastic that is the problem 9A so called design fault) My neighbour an engineer can verify this .I posted this video in 2009 on youtube and on my blog (www.thepressnet.com (machholz blog) and it was not long before I got a call on a Sunday morning from some Irishman on holidays in France ,he had the same problem ,his window fell out and he was told he would have to wait until Monday morning before his window could be fixed and a cost of 550 euro but having found my website and the article I wrote about the Renault window problem he was able to fix the window himself with a bit of super -glue Boy was I delighted that I was able to stop Renault from fleecing one of their own customers.
I recently posted the same videos up on you tube again as I only last week my driver side window fell out .I complained to Renault in Gory and I have an appointment on Wednesday morning 18th may to have it fixed and Renault has promised to do it under warranty .
I will of course keep you up to date on the outcome.
